Part-Time Cook – Evening Shift
Join Our Friendly Care Home Kitchen Team at Meadowcroft
Are you an experienced Cook looking for a rewarding part-time role where your skills can make a real difference? Meadowcroft Care Home in Shoreham is looking for a Part-Time Cook to join our friendly and supportive kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook who enjoys preparing high-quality meals and would like a calm, structured role with regular hours.
You’ll play an important role in creating enjoyable mealtimes for our residents by preparing and serving evening meals in our warm and welcoming care home environment.
Location: Meadowcroft Care Home, Shoreham Salary: £13.45 per hour Hours: 3 hours per week – Saturday 4:00pm to 7:00pm Contract: Permanent, part-time

About the Role As our Part-Time Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving evening meals for our residents, ensuring food is nutritious, well-presented, and meets individual dietary requirements.

You will work independently during your shift while being part of a caring and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve evening meals for residents Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served on time Follow food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment Ensure dietary, allergy, and nutritional requirements are met Support a smooth and efficient evening meal service Work independently during scheduled shifts
About You We are looking for an experienced Cook who: Takes pride in preparing good-quality meals Has previous catering or kitchen experience (essential) Is reliable, organised, and punctual Can work confidently and independently Has a positive and caring attitude Is comfortable working in a care home environment Understands the importance of food hygiene and safety standards
Experience working within a care home or similar setting would be an advantage, but the most important thing is your passion for preparing great food and supporting residents’ wellbeing.
