Supplier Manager - Portfolio Lead (Third Party Risk Management)

Overview

Hackajob are collaborating with Barclays to identify a strategic Supplier Manager - Portfolio Lead to support their Third Party Risk function. This role involves managing a defined supplier portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with organisational standards.

You’ll:

  • Lead supplier oversight while delivering strategic initiatives to meet evolving regulatory and operational demands.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in risk management processes and capabilities.
  • Uphold Barclays’ Third Party Service Provider Policy and Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Portfolio Oversight & Risk Management

    • Manage and monitor third-party risk/compliance against Barclays’ standards.
    • Execute control processes, monitor KPIs, and mitigate vendor-related issues.
    • Negotiate contracts and identify high-quality suppliers aligned with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Policy Alignment

    • Work with procurement, legal, and regulatory teams to deliver on policy requirements.
    • Align supplier relationships to support Barclays’ overall business strategy.
  • Vendor Performance & Risk Compliance

    • Review and ensure vendors meet contractual obligations, quality benchmarks, and risk-mitigation targets.
    • Keep pace with emerging trends in third-party risk management through training and research.

  • Governance & Regulatory Support
    • Partner with Barclays’ regulatory teams to address compliance requests/divergences.

    • Define team/departmental vision, manage succession planning, and oversee performance.

  • Model vendor performance, solve complex problems, and recommend actionable insights.
  • Build trust with internal/external partners to achieve shared objectives through negotiation and influencing.

Requirements

Essential Criteria
  • Proven track record in third-party risk, supplier management, compliance, or related fields.
  • Ability to analyse risks, execute controls, and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in leadership/change management in dynamic environments.
  • Balances initiative with vigilance in high-risk contexts.
  • A strategic-thinker who can mandate decisions confidently.
Advantageous Qualifications
  • Formal qualifications in risk, procurement, compliance, or comparable disciplines.

Assessment Focus

Eligible candidates may be tested for:

  • Critical risk controls incorporation.
  • Change agility across regulatory and operational hurdles.
  • Strategic influence and technical risk assessment.
