The Role
We’re seeking a Supplier Quality & Development Engineer (SQDE). In this critical position, you’ll align our global supply base with our quality, compliance, and sustainability goals, working closely with Procurement, Category Management, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation & Auditing – Onboard and continuously assess suppliers to ensure they meet ISO9001 and industry standards.
- New Product Development – Support DFM (Design for Manufacture) reviews, process development, PPAP/sample approvals, and early supplier engagement for new introductions.
- Continuous Improvement – Drive supplier audits, implement improvement plans, and resolve non-conformances using 8D root-cause analysis.
- Nuclear Safety Compliance – Assist in Commercial Grade Surveys and item dedication activities, ensuring suppliers meet Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements.
- Performance Tracking – Maintain records, metrics, and stakeholder reports to transparently monitor supplier performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supplier Development
- Evaluate, audit, and onboard new suppliers under procurement strategies.
- Conduct periodic supplier assessments and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Product & Process Support
- Participate in DFM reviews, process development, and PPAP/sample approvals for new product launches.
- Engage in process audits and corrective action plans using structured methodologies like 8D.

Commercial Grade & Nuclear Compliance
- Perform Commercial Grade Surveys and Item Dedication evaluations.
- Ensure suppliers meet Nuclear Quality Assurance and Explosive Atmospheres requirements.

Problem-Solving & Reporting
- Lead supplier issue resolution and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records, performance metrics, and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance/control (manufacturing environment).
- Proven hands-on experience in planning and executing supplier/internal audits.
- Strong understanding of ISO9001 standards, including:
- Document control
- Internal auditing
- Product & process inspection
- Non-conforming product management
- Measuring device calibration
- Practical knowledge of at least one key Rotork manufacturing process, such as:
- Casting, machining, electronics, injection molding.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles for both tooling and components.
- Fluency in Microsoft tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Teams).
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Desired (Non-Essential but Preferred)
- Qualifications in:
- ISO/IEC 80079-34 (Explosive Atmospheres QMS)
- Technical skills in:
- ERP/data aggregation (e.g., PowerBI dashboards)
- Statistical analysis (Normal Distribution, SPC, Hypothesis Testing)
- Experience with Lean/Kaizen facilitation and tool implementation.
- Background or understanding in the nuclear industry.
Key Traits & Attributes
- Self-Driven & Inquisitive – Enthusiastic for understanding technical requirements (e.g., Explosive Atmospheres, Nuclear specifications).
- Problem Solver – Committed to continuous improvement and reflective learning.
- Adaptable & Resilient – Regular travel (typically >25%, occasionally up to 50%) to assess and audit suppliers.
