As a Supplier Quality & Development Engineer (SQDE), you will drive supplier capability, quality compliance, and sustainability across Rotork’s global supply base. Collaborating with Procurement, Category Management, Engineering, and Quality teams, you’ll ensure suppliers meet stringent industry standards—including contributions to our Nuclear Quality Assurance programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, audit, and onboard new suppliers to support procurement strategies.
- Conduct supplier audits and periodic re-evaluations, enforcing adherence to ISO9001 standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support new product introductions via:
- Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews
- Process development
- PPAP/sample approval activities
- Develop and implement supplier improvement plans, driving corrective action and long-term capability enhancements.
- Lead problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D methodology) to resolve supplier non-conformances.
- Contribute to Nuclear Quality Assurance, including:
- Commercial Grade Surveys
- Commercial Grade Item Dedication
- Maintain records, performance metrics, and stakeholder reports using tools like Excel, SharePoint, and PowerBI.

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in a quality function within manufacturing.
- Proven track record in:
- Planning and executing internal/supplier audits.
- ISO9001 expertise covering:
- Document controls
- Internal audits
- Manufacturing process & product control
- Non-conformance management
- Measurement/Gauge quality
- Hands-on knowledge of core manufacturing processes:
- Casting, machining, electronics manufacturing, or injection moulding.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) for production tooling and components.
- Competence in administrative tools:
- Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
- Excel (analytical operations)

Desirable
- Certification in ISO/IEC 80079-34 (Explosive Atmospheres QMS).
- Experience with electronically aggregated data:
- ERP systems, PowerBI dashboards.
- Statistical analysis skills:
- Normal Distribution, SPC charts, Hypothesis Testing.
- Lean toolset proficiency (e.g., trained Kaizen facilitator).
- Nuclear industry experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with supplier corrective action programs (CAPA).
Person Specification
- Self-motivated, aligned with Rotork’s purpose and departmental objectives.
- Passion for sustainability with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proactive and reflective—open to deepening technical knowledge.
- Engage with topics like explosive atmospheres or Nuclear regulations.
- Willingness to travel: Regular supplier engagements—25–50% in peak periods.
