About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer will work to maximise supplier performance and minimise risks through continuous improvement strategies. Aligning with ISO 9001 and ASME regulations, this role ensures excellent quality standards through collaboration with Procurement, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will be part of a global, multi-cultural team—driving supplier excellence, root-cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action (CAPA) implementation while mentoring junior team members.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management & Compliance
- Actively participate in daily MRB meetings to support task completion and issue resolution.
- Liaise with manufacturing and internal departments to diagnose and resolve supplier-related quality issues.
- Collaborate directly with vendors to ensure RCA completion and CAPA implementation.
- Validate supplier corrective action effectiveness through follow-ups.
- Conduct data trend analyses on supplier non-conformities and prepare monthly internal reports.
Pre-Purchase & Supplier Engagement
- Review pre-purchase orders for critical components to identify potential risks.
- Attend weekly/monthly supplier performance calls to monitor compliance.
- Conduct vendor surveys to assess quality management systems (QMS) and recommend improvements.
- Lead vendor audits/assessments for new and existing suppliers as part of Celeros ITP processes.

Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Supply Chain buyers to produce supplier health check-ups, ensuring:
- Supplier alignment with Celeros requirements
- Monitoring of supply progress & quality issues
- Foster cross-plant collaboration with key suppliers on quality best practices.
- Coach and mentor junior SQE resources in supplier quality processes.
Company-Wide Commitments
- Promote Celeros Health & Safety policies, ensuring compliance in all activities.
- Adhere to ethical and procedural standards, setting an example for colleagues.
- Develop a deep understanding of Celeros’ products and services to enhance supplier relations.
Flexibility & Travel
- Additional duties may arise, including ad-hoc travel (road/air), requiring flexibility in scheduling.
Skills, Education & Experience
Education & Knowledge Requirements
- A University or College Degree in Engineering or Quality Management, or equivalent industry experience.
- Basic inspection techniques & quality controls (for manufacturing processes).
- Foundry or machining background preferred.
- Process Controls and dimensional controls expertise.
- Ability to interpret Quality Plans, Specifications, and Engineering Drawings.
- Experience in managing machining and casting suppliers.
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, NQA-1, and ASME Codes & Standards (highly desirable).
- holding a recognised auditing qualification (preferred).
Workforce Requirements
- Valid UK right to work proof required.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance for the role.

Physical & Working Conditions
Physical Demands
- Must stand, sit, walk, hear, and see clearly daily to perform computer work.
- Occasional need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for site activities.
- Some lifting of light to moderate objects.
- Frequent travel (frequent long-haul/road trips).
Work Environment
- Tolerable exposure to moderate office noise.
- Primary work in open-planned office or individual office settings.
- Extended periods of computer screen work / sitting in vehicles.
