The Company
Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market-leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Control team. This role is pivotal in ensuring supplier performance meets our quality standards, driving continuous improvement across the supply chain, and maintaining consistency in data reporting and quality processes.
Job Description
- Work within the Quality Control team to ensure consistency of data reported and recorded
- Responsible for the onboarding process for new suppliers
- Review new supplier parts
- Supplier visits to analyse and audit quality control and processes
- Work with suppliers on process and product improvements
Essential Criteria
- Degree equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline or other relevant qualifications
- Experience in working in supplier quality in a multi-national large manufacturing business
- Strong knowledge of quality control principles and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Experience with supplier onboarding, audits, or supplier development
- Ability to review technical drawings/specifications and assess product conformity
- Proven experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys)
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and consistency
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel for supplier visits and audits
- Good competency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Excel or similar)
- Ability to develop Production Process for New Parts in collaboration with supplier including tooling, fixturing and inspection/measuring process

Desired Criteria
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen)
- Certified internal or lead auditor qualification
- Experience working with international suppliers
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)

- Overtime is paid at Time 1/3 first 2 hours then Time 1/2 thereafter each day. Saturday is Time 1/2 and Sunday Double Time.
