🚀 We're Hiring | Supplier Quality Engineer 📍 South Shields 💼 Full Time | Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to help drive quality excellence across a global supply chain. This is an exciting opportunity to work with suppliers across the UK and internationally, ensuring the highest standards of quality while supporting innovative engineering solutions.

What you'll be doing

As our Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll be the key link between the business and its suppliers, ensuring components and materials consistently meet the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to:

  • Conduct supplier audits and performance assessments
  • Approve quality documentation including PPAPs, FMEAs, and Control Plans
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues using CAPA and 8D methodologies
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma principles
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve quality and reduce defects
  • Support incoming inspection activities and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues across UK operations and an international manufacturing facility to drive consistency and best practice

About You

You'll be an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering quality at every stage of the supply chain.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in supplier quality within manufacturing or engineering
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and core quality tools including PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence suppliers and stakeholders
  • A relevant Engineering or Quality qualification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable)
  • Experience within bearings, heavy engineering, or project-based manufacturing (advantageous)
