Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Reading, Havant, Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness

Salary: £51600 - £77400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

Reporting to the Procurement and Commercial Manager and supporting the Director of Procurement, the Supplier Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing, developing, and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships between SSEN Distribution and our Supply Chain.

With a proven track record in successful relationship or account management you will help to embed a robust, resilient and sustainable supply chain for SSEN Distribution.

You will

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to jointly develop plans aligned to achievement of our business plan outputs and regulatory commitments for investment in network infrastructure investment and services.
  • Be proactive in ensuring our senior leadership team are able to engage effectively with their key supply chain counterparts, developing structured, collaborative relationships which enable safe, timely delivery and meet our cost, quality and sustainability standards.
  • Demonstrate a passion for sustainable supply chain delivery, you will support Sustainability colleagues to implement and assure our suppliers’ commitment, adoption and compliance for our Sustainable Supplier Code.
  • Have a key role in embedding and enhancing SRM strategy, concepts and skills across SSEN Distribution. Leading these changes, you will role model and champion new ways of working and seek to continuously improve procurement and commercial policy and processes.

You have

  • A thorough knowledge of end-to-end procurement and supply chain life-cycle processes with a focus on strategic relationship management and post-contract supplier performance.
  • The capability and previous experience of engaging and influencing senior internal stakeholders to work collaboratively with strategic and business critical suppliers. You will also demonstrate a track record of engaging and motivating suppliers, creating and delivering added value for both parties.
  • A clear appreciation of Procurement and Commercial’s role in enabling resilient and sustainable supply chains.
  • A sound understanding of the regulated utilities market in the UK, ideally supplier management responsibility for one or more of SSEN’s Distribution’s key supplier markets.
  • Strong communication, teamworking and collaboration skills. You will be self-motivated and resilient, with capability to take a lead role in successfully planning, implementing and embedding change and new ways of working.
