St John Ambulance empowers communities to access and provide physical and mental health first aid through:

  • Volunteer, Community Advocate, and Young Responder programmes, focusing on equipping individuals with clinical skills and confidence

Job Summary

As a Supplies Quality Coordinator, you will be instrumental in ensuring safe, high-quality medical supply compliance, helping St John Ambulance deliver lifesaving services nationwide. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing medical device regulation compliance (covering EU MDR, UK MDR, and FDA standards)
  • Managing Field Safety Notices (FSNs) – ensuring timely receipt, review, implementation, reporting, and tracking
  • Conducting first-line quality checks on processes, systems, and operational reporting
  • Ensuring accurate distribution and tracking of assets from the National Distributor Centre (NDC), including managing deliveries per compliance specifications
  • Coordinating international shipments to meet regulatory and quality requirements
  • Acting as the key contact for customers, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders with regard to compliance queries and regulatory reporting

Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and customers, your role will include clear communication, accurate documentation, and alignment across all compliance-related activities.


About You

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with experience in logistics or supply chain management, particularly in:

  • Stock management
  • Quality reporting
  • Process documentation

Key Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with compliance management systems.
  • Strong ability to produce clear, accurate reports for decision-making.
  • Exceptional organisation, multi-tasking, and accuracy skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, as you’ll interact with internal teams and external partners.
  • Digital proficiency – comfortable supporting colleagues on data management tools and promoting best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical device regulations.
  • Qualifications in logistics or quality management.

Core Responsibilities of the Role

  • Ensure compliance with EU MDR, UK MDR, FDA, and all relevant medical device regulations across supply and distribution activities.
  • Carry out quality checks on NDC processes, system accuracy, and operational reporting for compliance.
  • Oversee distribution and allocation of assets from the NDC, with tracking and approval of first deliveries against compliance standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor international shipments to confirm regulatory and quality requirements are fully met.
  • Manage Field Safety Notices (FSNs) – process all receipts, reviews, communications to customers, and internal teams, and ensure proper tracking and actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and regulatory bodies, addressing compliance queries and preparing submissions for required regulatory reports.
