About the Role
Procurement and Supply Officer (NHS Band 3) - St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight
Partnering through a shared mission, Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust aim for exceptional care delivery. This role contributes to the supply chain, ensuring wards and departments at Queen Alexandra Hospital (Portsmouth) and St Mary’s Hospital (Isle of Wight) remain fully stocked.
- Location: St Mary’s Hospital, Parkhurst Rd, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5TG
- Primary Base: St. Mary’s or QA Hospital (Portsmouth), with potential business travel between sites
- Contract Type: 2 × Permanent positions
- Salary (Full Time): £25,760–£27,476 p.a. | (Part Time: £10,304–£10,990 p.a. for 15-hour role)
- Hours: Full Time (37.5hr) or Part Time (15hr)

Support our Procurement & Supply Department in maintaining essential medical and surgical supplies across two hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a barcode-enabled Inventory Management System to:
- Process, track, and replenish medical stock
- Order supplies efficiently
- Pick, pack, and deliver supplies to clinical/non-clinical teams
- Maintain precise stock records and assist with audits
- Provide win-win customer service to internal/external colleagues
- Prioritise urgent requests and work to deadlines
- Follow health & safety procedures (e.g., manual handling guidelines)
- Contribute to continuous service improvement
Requirements
Skills & Attributes
- Team player with a positive customer-focused attitude
- Basic keyboard/IT skills (system training provided)
- Strong verbal communication to liaise with staff/clinicians
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to perform light manual handling per protocols
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience in supply chain, stock control, retail, hospitality, or healthcare
- NVQ Level 3 or CIPS Foundation-level qualifications

Qualifications (Essential)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics & English (CIPS/CIVILS preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Proven ability to communicate verbally/written English
- Computational proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations
- Familiarity with financial/admin/HR processes
