Supply Chain Manager

Internal Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Business: Lucy Zodion Ltd Location: Sowerby Bridge Job Reference No: 4466

Job Purpose:

As a Supply Chain Manager, you would be responsible for managing the full end-to-end supply chain, optimising inventory in line with current business needs, optimising inbound/outbound transport, and coordinating with suppliers to meet demand. You would also need to ensure that supply chain function maximises its value to business as a whole.

Business Overview:

Lucy Zodion is an industry leader in advanced street lighting controls, power distribution and electric vehicle (EV) supply solutions. Our products assist customers with energising urban and highways infrastructure from the ground up. Our range includes photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut outs and switchgear.

Job Dimensions:

  • Geographic scope: Lucy Zodion – Sowerby Bridge
  • Direct Interface: with all other members of the site
  • Day-to-day engagement: with internal customers, suppliers, other operational functions and commercial activities across the business

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Safe Working Practices
  • Managing the flow of goods and services throughout the manufacturing process
  • Coordination of production schedules, inventory levels, and product demand
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Analyse trends and data to forecast future needs and streamline operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines and standards
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and vulnerabilities
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Monitor transportation and logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
  • Lead cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts and maximize performance

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, manufacturing or engineering, or logistics
  • Five or more years of experience in supply chain management or related roles, such as purchasing
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics
  • Manage the end-to-end flow of materials, products, and information to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality production and delivery
  • Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to forecast demand accurately, managing inventory, preventing stockouts or excess inventory, reducing costs and optimising cash flow
  • Good knowledge of carrying out “value analysis” of suppliers
  • Working with suppliers across the globe, particularly Far East and India
  • Proficient knowledge and use of ERP/MRP systems
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
