Supply Chain Manager
Cobalt is delighted to be partnering with a leading Real Estate brand to appoint a Supply Chain Manager within its operational support function.
Supporting a portfolio of over 3,000 homes across London and the South East, this role will take ownership of a supplier networking approaching £10m and play a key part in strengthening contractor performance, commercial value, and service delivery across the business. This is an opportunity to step into a strategic supply chain and contractor management role.
Working closely with property management teams and senior stakeholders, the successful supply chain manager will review supplier performance, challenge existing processes, and help shape the future approach to supplier engagement and service delivery. The role offers significant autonomy within a hybrid role, allowing the successful individual to shape the processes and strategy of procurement and contractor management within a global firm, whilst building relationships and establishing your influence across the department.
Responsibilities
Manage and develop the approved contractor and supplier network supporting the residential portfolio. Monitor supplier performance, service quality, compliance, and value for money. Lead supplier review meetings and performance discussions. Challenge pricing, service delivery, and operational standards where required. Provide clear commercial justification for supplier selection and contractor spend. Work closely with property management teams to resolve service issues and identify improvements. Review supply chain structures, workflows, and spend data to improve efficiency and performance. Ensure supplier accreditations, documentation, and compliance records remain up to date. Support the development of a more proactive and strategic approach to supply chain management. Manage and support junior team members responsible for contractor administration and compliance processes. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting, controls, and supplier engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
