Job Summary
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading, managing, and optimising the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring seamless procurement, production planning, inventory management, and distribution to support business operations. This role demands accountability for:
- Supply continuity
- Cost control
- Service excellence
- Compliance
- Continuous improvement in efficiency, resilience, and overall supply chain capability.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Operations
- Manage the entire supply chain lifecycle, including:
- Procurement
- Production planning
- Warehousing logistics
- Distribution processes
- Develop and enact supply chain strategies aligned with business and operational goals
- Guarantee material and product availability to meet customer demand and production requirements
- Oversee product storage, transport, and distribution
- Collaborate with teams to ensure effective sourcing of raw materials and components
- Lead export procedures, including:
- Documentation coordination
- Liaison with external authorities (e.g., Chamber of Commerce)
- Ensure certification and compliance records are accurate and current

Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong supplier relationships, spanning:
- Logistics providers
- Key internal stakeholders
- Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers:
- Contracting
- Pricing
- Service level agreements
- Alignment with cross-functional teams:
- Operations
- Finance
- Sales
- Customer Service
- Procurement
- Act as supply-related escalation point for issue resolution
Inventory & Performance Management
- Lead demand planning and forecasting to optimise inventory levels
- Balance service requirements with working capital efficiency
- Use ERP (SAP) systems to monitor:
- Inventory
- Product flow
- Overall supply chain KPIs/information
- Track and report on supply chain metrics (e.g., inventory levels, service levels, OTIF—On-Time In-Full)
- Provide supply performance updates to senior leadership
- Drive initiatives to enhance service, reduce costs, and improve operational resilience
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks including:
- Renewable procurement
- Logistical hurdles
- Operational vulnerabilities
- Ensure adherence to:
- Company policies
- Regulatory standards
- Association/ISO compliance
- Maintain import/export, customs, and trade compliance
- Align supply practices to corporate sustainability goals
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Guide and develop the supply chain workforce to meet performance targets
- Cultivate a collaborative and accountable culture
- Lead transformational projects focused on:
- Process improvements
- Supply optimisation
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance capability
- Contribute to strategic planning (site-level and departmental)
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualifications:
Minimum professional qualification:
- Degree, HND, or Foundation Degree
in relevant fields including:
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics & Transportation
- Business Management
- Manufacturing/Engineering
- Information Systems/Computing
- Degree, HND, or Foundation Degree
in relevant fields including:
- Certifications:
- CIPS or APICS preferred but not mandatory
- Experience:
- Proven success in supply chain, logistics, and procurement
- Hands-on experience managing suppliers
- Negotiation and stakeholder alignment
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Understanding of export protocols, customs, and compliance framework
