Job Description: Supply Chain Planner (Data Focused)

Location: Leeds (Hybrid: minimum 3 days a week onsite)

Position Type: Full Time, Temporary Contract (Leave of Absence Cover)

Duration: Initial assignment until 01/02/2027

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday: Friday, flexible office hours)

PAYE Rate: GBP17.95: GBP20.15 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a data-driven Supply Chain Planner to join the Cummins Sales and Services site in Leeds. This role acts as a crucial cover for a leave of absence, focusing heavily on data analysis and processing to maintain seamless daily operations across materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, or order fulfillment.

Note: Prior experience specifically in supply chain planning is not required. We are highly prioritizing candidates with strong data analysis skills and a foundational understanding of supply chain principles in any field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data and Systems: Monitor, adjust, and utilize common planning system tools and strategies to drive consistent signals across the supply chain.
  • Analysis and KPIs: Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to proactively spot trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement concrete action plans.
  • Risk Mitigation: Execute daily operational planning, identifying potential supply chain failures early to mitigate logistical risks.
  • Supplier Performance: Manage supplier performance management (Class 1 and 2 level escalation), driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives with suppliers prior to immediate escalation into Supply Continuity.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to develop short-term tactical improvements; collaborate with dedicated data teams to identify key influencing planning parameters and optimize for specific outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in functional process improvement teams to optimize operations.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Ideally holds a B.S. or B.A. degree, or possesses equivalent work experience within a Supply Chain environment with a strong planning and analytical background.
  • Core Skills: Strong proficiency and a good understanding of processing data, with a heavy focus on the data analysis side.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with data teams to optimize specific outcomes and deliver both personal and team results for network success.
  • Advantageous: A solid baseline understanding of supply chain concepts in any field.
