Alexander Steele recruitment are working with an exciting high-growth food manufacturing business which is looking to expand their team with a Supply Chain Planner.

The ideal candidate has worked within an agent and broker or a manufacturing environment, with versatile planning experience and is a career motivated individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end upstream supply chain, managing relationships with key ingredient, packaging and component suppliers, as well as third-party manufacturing partners.
  • Lead the weekly demand planning and forecasting process, ensuring forecasts accurately reflect customer demand, promotional activity and market trends.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise production plans to ensure product availability while balancing inventory levels, manufacturing capacity and service performance.
  • Drive capacity planning activities, identifying future constraints and implementing proactive solutions to support business growth.
  • Partner closely with the Operations & Product Director on strategic supply chain initiatives, including supplier sourcing, new product launches and continuous improvement projects.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners, negotiating commercial agreements and delivering value through cost, service and quality improvements.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to safeguard continuity of supply.
  • Analyse supply chain performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen operational resilience.
  • Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Product Development and Operations teams to ensure supply plans align with business priorities and customer requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development of supply chain processes, systems and planning capabilities as the business continues to scale.
  • Maintain accurate planning data, inventory records and supplier information to support informed decision-making and operational excellence.
  • Proactively identify potential supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to minimise disruption to customers and the wider business.
