The Role: Supply Chain Specialist
This isn’t just a job—it’s a mission.
You will:
- Drive a sustainable, high-performing supply chain, ensuring critical programmes meet operational needs.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to safeguard commercial and financial interests.
- Contribute to day-to-day operations and strategic improvements, with influence over sourcing, supplier engagement, demand planning, and inventory management.
- Help shape best practices across Northrop Grumman’s supply chain function by fostering collaboration, initiative, and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities

Supplier Engagement
- Source potential suppliers and lead Request for Proposal (RFx) activities, including StOW reviews, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and implementation.
- Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships to ensure supplier performance aligns with programme priorities.

Compliance & Administration
- Maintain accurate, compliant ERP data and keep procurement/contract documentation up to date.
- Monitor supplier performance through assessments and continuous engagement.

Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, providing clear updates from a procurement/supply chain expertise perspective.
- Apply best practices in procurement and supply chain operations.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, such as:
- Spend optimisation
- Forecasting & scheduling

Candidate Requirements
Essential
✅ Relevant qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in supply chain, procurement, or a related field. ✅ Proven experience in building and managing supplier relationships. ✅ Ability to negotiate and manage subcontracts. ✅ Understanding of supply chain operations, especially Purchase-to-Pay processes, and familiarisation with these processes. ✅ Experience procuring professional and technical services.
Preferred
✅ CIPS qualification or working towards it. ✅ Knowledge of import/export controls, especially those relating to US export regulations.

UK Nationality Required
- Due to the nature of our work, you must be a UK citizen and able to attain and maintain a UK Government Standard Commercial (SC) clearance.
