Supply Chain Quality Specialist

£40.00 per hour via Umbrella
Filton based (4 days per week on-site)
Initial contract until 31st December 2026 | 35-hour week
BPSS clearance required

About the Client

Our client, a global leader in the aerospace industry, is looking for an experienced Supply Chain & Quality Specialist to join their team supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and Major Modifications programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving supplier quality, industrial maturity, and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment.

Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you'll lead APQP deployment, support supplier development initiatives, and coach Supply Chain Quality Managers to deliver world-class quality standards.

The Supply Chain Quality Specialist Role

You'll be responsible for supporting the UK Supply Chain Systems & Equipment organisation by driving supplier quality improvements, APQP deployment, and industrial maturity across complex aerospace programmes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading APQP deployment across New Product Introduction, Major Modifications, and Transfer of Work programmes
  • Supporting suppliers through continuous improvement and capability development initiatives
  • Coaching and mentoring Supply Chain Quality Managers on quality tools and methodologies
  • Leading supplier development activities using APQP and Supplier Business Improvement Plans
  • Supporting complex supplier quality issues affecting production and delivery
  • Driving standardisation of quality processes across the organisation
  • Working closely with suppliers to improve quality, delivery performance, and industrial capability
  • Facilitating Practical Problem Solving (PPS) activities including 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and other structured methodologies
  • Supporting industrial maturity assessments and supplier audits
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

We Need You To Have…

  • Strong Supply Chain Quality background within manufacturing or aerospace
  • Proven APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) experience
  • Experience supporting Transfer of Work or New Product Introduction programmes
  • Practical experience using quality methodologies including: 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PPS, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience developing suppliers and driving continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management and supplier-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and influence change across multiple teams
  • Knowledge of Change Request Industrial Implementation
  • Experience coaching or mentoring others on quality processes
