Fantastic Opportunity in Warehousing and Logistics
A fantastic opportunity to start a career in warehousing and logistics with Harlequin Office Furniture. There are two apprenticeship vacancies available: one Day Shift role and one Night Shift role. You will learn all aspects of warehouse operations whilst working towards a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship.
Role Responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprentice, you will support the warehouse team with a range of day-to-day activities, including:
- Picking and preparing furniture orders for dispatch
- Loading furniture safely and efficiently for delivery
- Assisting with furniture assembly where required
- Organising and moving stock throughout the warehouse
- Receiving and unloading furniture consignments safely
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Retrieving items and materials for the wider warehouse team
- Loading vehicles and checking goods are secure for transport
- Completing paperwork linked to stock movements and customer orders
- Reporting any discrepancies or issues to supervisors
- Supporting stock transfers between locations
- Providing a professional and friendly service when interacting with colleagues and customers
- Following all company health and safety procedures at all times.
Training and Development
Training includes time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

- Training Provider: HULL COLLEGE
- Course Contents: Conduct risk assessments within the working environment. Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy. Receive products in line with organisational procedures. Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures. Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures. Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures. Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers. Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers. Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination. Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling. Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security. Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements. Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts. Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product. Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility. Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal. Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules. Carry out and record learning and development activities. Conducts handover activities.

Qualifications and Experience
- Essential Qualifications: GCSE in English (grade 2), Maths (grade 2). Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Harlequin Office Furniture Limited is a well-established office furniture supplier and logistics business. Working as part of a busy warehouse team, you will gain valuable experience across stock management, goods handling, order preparation and customer service while completing a recognised apprenticeship programme.
Career Progression
Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a permanent Warehouse Operative position, along with opportunities to develop into more senior warehouse, logistics or supervisory roles. Additional training such as forklift qualifications may also be available to support future career development. The employer has identified a forklift reach licence as a desirable skill within the role.
