About the Role
We’re looking for a customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our IT Support team. You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware, software and peripherals, ensuring users receive fast, effective technical support.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops and IT equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and operating system issues.
- Support user accounts, permissions and access requests.
- Carry out routine hardware maintenance and equipment upgrades.
- Troubleshoot workstation, networking and connectivity issues.
- Support Windows desktop and server environments.
- Provide basic support for Linux/UNIX systems and macOS where required.
- Accurately document incidents and follow established support procedures.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service while working independently and within a team.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Experience supporting Windows desktop environments.
- Strong PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of desktop and laptop hardware.
- Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP and Windows Server networking.
- Basic Linux/UNIX knowledge (Red Hat desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
- Great communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, customer-first approach.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 23kg (50lbs).

Desirable
- Experience supporting Apple macOS.
- Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification.
- Apple ACMT/ACSP or Cisco CCNA certification.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Working Hours
This is a 40-hour per week role operating on a rotating shift pattern. Weekend working is required.

Typical Shifts Are
- Tuesday to Saturday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Sunday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm (UK local time)
