The Opportunity
The IT Support Engineer role is vital in ensuring teachers empower learners through seamless technology. As part of our team of IT Support Engineers, you’ll:
- Provide a first-class level of support to education users, adhering to ITIL best practices.
- Work collaboratively with the service desk to meet contractual SLA targets, escalating issues as needed while keeping customers informed.
- excel in solving IT problems with troubleshooting expertise and empathy, especially for non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities
Working as part of an onsite services IT team, you’ll progress in your career while fulfilling core duties:
- Customer Advocate: Represent RM with exceptional service delivery to its clients.
- Service Delivery: Assist the service desk in delivering IT managed support, addressing school-based user issues with adherence to service desk policies.
- Safeguarding Awareness: Understand and uphold safeguarding responsibilities within the education sector.
Requirements & Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving and time management for education environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written interaction—essential for explaining technical issues clearly.
- Reliability: Punctual, proactive, and adept at prioritising a busy workload.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Able to diagnose hardware/software issues, guide users effectively, and escalate appropriately.
- Collaboration: Fol work remotely and build relationships with diverse teams.
Technical Skills
- Device Support: Maintenance of desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Peripheral Expertise: Familiarity with networking (wired/wireless), printing, scanning, projectors, interactive displays, and A/V equipment.
- Operating Systems: Hands-on experience with image build & deployment (Microsoft/Apple).
- Cloud Platforms: Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- Certifications: Equivalent to CompTIA A+ or comparable experience.
- ITIL: Familiarity with ITIL methodology and a service desk ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) is a plus.
