Support Finance Business Partner
Base Location: Glasgow or Perth
Salary: £42,600 – £55,000 + Performance-Related Bonus + Range of benefits (including family, financial, and wellbeing support)
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full-Time | Flexible Work First Options Available
About the Role
SSEN Transmission is driving Scotland’s net-zero transition with the largest investment package the UK’s electricity grid has ever seen—exceeding £20bn in planned projects. This Support Finance Business Partner role helps deliver this investment through robust financial and strategic oversight of capital programmes, reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Forecasting
- Analyse and review month-end and year-to-date results for Onshore capital projects, collaborating with project teams to identify variances and ensure forecasts align with SSE and SSEN Transmission’s net-zero strategy.
- Lead monthly cash flow forecasting for capital projects, partnering with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, risk mitigation, and opportunity identification.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, driving collaboration with cross-functional teams for streams financial reporting.

Stakeholder & Project Oversight
- Foster a strong collaborative relationship with Procurement & Commercial and project teams to uphold high standards of financial governance.
- Work closely with Senior Finance Business Partners to deliver data-driven insights for board papers, regulatory filings, financing arrangements, and ad-hoc financial needs.

Data & Modelling Excellence
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, ensuring reasoned outputs that align with business goals.
Requirements
- Qualification: Appropriate accounting chartership (e.g., ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA) or equivalent experience. Part-qualified candidates considered.
- Relationship & Leadership: Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and lead high-value cross-functional projects.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills highly advantageous.
- Experience with capital project forecasting, cash flow modelling, and financial systems.
- Personality & Adaptability:
- Must deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines with initiative, drive, and attentiveness to detail.
