Support Line Coordinator

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027 Hours: Part time (0.4 FTE), 14 hours per week (days to be agreed) Location: SIA House, Milton Keynes (MK6). Hybrid working with expectation of three days per week in the office. Salary: £36,090 per annum (pro rata at £14,436 per annum for 14 hours per week)

About the Role

The Support Line Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Delivering, maintaining, and expanding the organisation’s Support Line service
  • Updating and developing new factsheets and educational materials as required
  • Supporting case workers/advocates with Clinical Health Care (CHC) and social care enquiries
  • Facilitating connections between individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI), the SIA, and partner services
  • Referring SCI people and their families to specialist clinical health/health expert support teams, support networks, and advocacy services
  • Supporting fundraising efforts, campaigns, and communications
  • Ensuring callers to the Support Line receive up-to-date, specialist information and offering tailored support when needed
  • Acting as the first point of contact and linking callers to SIA’s broader network of support
  • Analysing data and case studies to identify emerging trends/issues among those supported by SIA

Key responsibilities include:

  • Salary-related compliance with maintaining accurate call records and data
  • Enhancing the user experience of SIA’s support channels
  • Representing SIA in community outreach and promotional activities (e.g., workshops, events)

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with team members to improve call logistics and support reproductive quality
  • Develop partnerships with external organisations to expand service relevance and reach
  • Advocate for inclusive policies and partnerships within SIA’s network
  • Support SIA’s overarching mission through every interaction on the Support Line

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have lived experience of spinal cord injury, with a deep understanding of SCI challenges and networking dynamics

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with empathy and patience
  • Proven experience managing high-volume caller queries across complex topics
  • Ability to research reference insights quickly and with expertise
  • Experience with collaborative tools (e.g., Sani CRM systems) as an advantage
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Public speaking or workshop facilitation experience
  • Professional advocate experience
