Support Practitioner
Relief Carer – North Aberdeenshire (Peterhead, Strichen, Banff, Maud, Ellon, New Deer & Longside)

We're expanding our relief pool and are looking for reliable and caring individuals to support our teams across North Aberdeenshire, including:
- Peterhead
- Strichen
- Banff
- Maud
- Ellon
- New Deer
- Longside
The Role
As a relief colleague, you'll play an incredibly important role within our teams. You'll step in to support during periods of annual leave, training, and absence.
With our relief contracts, you're in control—tell us when you're available and we'll align shifts to fit your life.
No two days are ever the same. You’ll make a massive difference in the lives of the individuals we support.
Key Responsibilities
You will assist individuals with disabilities or additional support needs in all aspects of their daily living, such as:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Medication management
- Household chores
- Meal preparation

About You
We’re looking for people with the right attitude—no formal experience is required. We’ll provide all necessary training and even cover certification costs, including:
- SVQ (Social Services & Healthcare, SCQF level 6/7)
- PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check
- Yearly SSSC registration fees
All we ask is that you bring:
- A caring and compassionate nature
- The ability to work well in a team and independently when needed
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Creativity and passion for improving people’s lives
- Confidence in using computers
Shift Patterns
To deliver personalised, high-quality support, shifts include:
- Early mornings
- Days
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Sleepovers (not included in contracted hours, paid separately)
- Waking nights (hourly rate + £20 per shift)

Additional Notes for Successful Applicants
Successful candidates must:
- Join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme
- Commit to working towards an SVQ in Social Services & Healthcare (with our training academy’s support)
- Register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting
