Support Practitioner
Support Practitioner (Part-Time) – #TeamHalliday, Peterhead
About the Role
Are you looking for a new part-time job where you can make a real difference and be reliable? Browse on—#TeamHalliday in Peterhead is currently seeking one or two caring and responsible individuals to join their team on a part-time basis (12, 14, or 26 hours per week).
As a Support Practitioner, you’ll work within a tight-knit, friendly team to provide essential mental health and daily living support to a young gentleman with an autism diagnosis, allowing him to live independently.
You’ll form a genuine, supportive relationship, helping him with all aspects of daily life—cooking meals, achieving goals, trying new activities, or simply feeling understood and valued.
Beyond core assistance, you’ll also engage with his hobbies and interests, including:
- Swimming
- Walking
- Golf range visits
- Outings
- Meals
- Drives in his own mobility car
This role isn’t just a job—it’s about making a positive impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in all aspects of daily living, ensuring independence and routine.
- Participate in hobbies and social outings, supporting activities that bring value and joy.
- Adapt to flexible schedules, including providing sleepover support (with additional pay).
- Build trust and rapport through consistent, empathetic communication.
- Assist with travel, including using the mobility car (applicants must possess a full manual driving licence).

Essential:
- A full manual driving licence (due to mandatory use of the mobility car).
- Confidence supporting in water (swimming is a frequent activity).
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- A caring, positive attitude with an ability to respect routines and guidelines.
- Computer literacy and comfort with digital tools.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Availability to work flexible hours (see Shift Patterns below).
About You: No previous experience is required—we recruit on values and will provide full training, including:
- Funding for an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6/7).
- Coverage of Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme costs.
- Assistance with SSSC registration fees.
Shift Patterns
Shift flexibility ensures 24/7 coverage while meeting contractual hours (12, 14, or 26). Typical patterns include:
- Monday–Friday chunks: 1515 – 2300 or 0700 – 0915 (including a sleepover).
- Weekend shifts (rotational): 0900 – 1600, 1600 – 2300, or 0700 – 0900 (with sleepovers).
Sleepover notes:
- Time not included in contractual hours.
- Additional pay of £107.60 is provided for each sleepover worked.
