Support Worker
Support Worker (Permanent, Full-Time)
Location: West Cornforth, Durham
- Salary: £13.45 per hour (£26,300 per annum)
- Includes: Health Cash Plan, great benefits
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- No Care of Savings (CoS) available for this role

Create and oversee personalised support plans to help clients set and achieve goals, with a focus on building confidence and independence.

Contribute to risk assessments, safeguarding reviews, and ongoing compliance reporting.

Maintain detailed records and ensure all documentation stays up-to-date.

Perform general office duties including admin, reporting, and making sure services meet health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Understanding and following risk assessment protocols. ✔ Compiling detailed, individualised support plans. ✔ Supporting clients to work on personal goals and progress step-by-step. ✔ Collaborating with teams to ensure smooth operations. ✔ Demonstrating adaptability in shifting client needs.

Requirements
Essential
- A valid driving licence for business travel (a car is required).
- Ability to work flexibly (some on-call adjustments for client demands).
- Confident in digital systems (online documentation, learning tools, etc.).
- Possibly experience or an understanding of mental health.
Preferred
- Experience in community support or similar care roles.
- A passion for empowering individuals to live independently.
- Traits to match:
- Strong problem-solving of extensions under pressure.
- Empathic, personalised approach to customer needs.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.

The Practicalities
Working Hours & Schedule
- Shift Times:
- 08:00 – 16:00 (weekdays)
- 12:00 – 20:00 (evenings)
- 13:15 – 21:15 (late splits) including some weekends
- 5-day week, 4-week rolling rota (e.g., working Monday-Friday for Week 1, then Saturday-Sunday or similar).
- Flexibility: Times may adjust to meet client needs.
Logistics
- Travel costs covered (mileage payments for business use).
- Enhanced DBS check will be required (we cover the cost). Must hold a UK driving licence.
- Business insurance required (separate from personal insurance).
