Support Worker

Complex Care Assistant/Support Worker

We’re seeking passionate, caring individuals to join our team at Alcedo Care as a Complex Care Assistant in Wrexham and surrounding areas.


About the Role

Location: Wrexham & surrounding areas Pay: £15.00–£15.50/hr plus pension plus holiday pay (rolled up rate: £17.31–£17.89). For domiciliary support hours (outside complex care), pay ranges from £13.50–£14.00/hr (rolled up rate: £15.58–£16.16). Flexible hours: 20–40 hrs+ weekly (including short shifts, 12-hour shifts, or day/night work). Immediate interviews available—apply fast!

Purpose: Provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with complex needs, including:

  • Spinal injuries
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Neurological disorders
  • Mental health support

Training & Support: Full training and competency sign-off delivered by in-house Registered Nurses, including specialised care oversight (e.g., PEG, suction, tracheostomy management).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist complex care, assisting with medication administration, mobility, meal prep, hygiene, and household tasks.
  • Support clients’ independence and dignity, promoting personalised care routines.
  • Offer trusted transport and emotional support tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Collaborate with our care team to ensure privacy, safeguarding, and continuity of care.

Requirements

University degree not required. Instead, we need:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care (required for sole female applicant pool).
  • 3+ months of practical care experience in a UK care setting or familial support context.
  • Ability to fulfil the genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act (2010)—due to client safeguarding needs, applications are open only to women.
