Support Worker – Full Time (Residential)

Department: Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers Location: Bedborough House, Radstock, Somerset Compensation: £13.75 per hour

About Bedborough House

Bedborough House is seeking Full-time Support Workers to join our dedicated team.

Located in Radstock, Somerset, we provide residential support for seven adults:

  • Autistic males and females
  • Those with learning disabilities

Our home is set within a residential area, offering serene views of the beautiful Somerset countryside.

We deliver person-centred support, focusing on:

  • Promoting independence
  • Developing daily living skills
  • Supporting community access

Our goal is to improve our residents’ quality of life by empowering them through tailored care.


Role Overview

You will work within a compassionate team dedicated to the wellbeing of our residents. We take a personalised approach, integrating evidence-based therapies to enable our clients to progress confidently and pursue a healthier, more fulfilling life.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Assist qualified staff in assessing and implementing individualised care plans for residents
  • Conduct routine tasks and activities (as directed or delegated) to uphold:
    • Wellbeing
    • Dignity
    • Treatment goals
  • Play a vital role in facilitating recovery and supporting residents’ ongoing growth

Key Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with qualified staff to deliver high standards of care
  • Assisting with daily routines, personal care, and medication adherence (as supervised)
  • Planning and supervising social and recreational activities to enhance engagement
  • Supporting behavioural strategy implementation, under clinical oversight
  • Monitoring and documenting residents’ progress, reporting changes promptly
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive living environment for our diverse group
  • Adhering to all policies, safeguarding procedures, and confidentiality guidelines

Your Qualifications & Skills

While prior experience is welcomed, we’re looking for candidates with: ✔ Strong interpersonal skills – The ability to build trust and relationships quickly ✔ Empathy and patience – A genuine commitment to fostering a compassionate environment ✔ Problem-solving approach – Adaptability to varying needs and scenarios ✔ Basic first-aid understanding (training provided) ✔ Legal maturity – Reliability to uphold workloads, especially during shifts
