Support Worker (Day Services) – Crowborough

About the Role
You will play a vital role within our team, providing essential support to adults with a learning disability in our day service based in Crowborough. Your work will make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of service attendees, while offering you a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Support Worker (Day Services), your responsibilities will include:

Promoting independence and social inclusion Design and carry out timetabled activities to foster friendships, teach practical independence skills, and involve participants in community engagement.

Personal and practical support
- Assist clients with making friends and developing social networks.
- Provide hands-on help with tasks such as eating, maintaining hygiene, and daily routines.
- Support participants in managing medication (if required) and carrying out hygiene-related tasks.

Emotional and mental well-being support Offer empathic and sensitive support, encouraging a positive outlook on life and helping to build confidence.

Flexible, results-driven engagement
- Actively incorporate your own skills and interests to enhance the activities offered.
- Lead structured group activities promoting learning, health, and well-being in both the service and local community.

Salary & Working Conditions
- Pay: £25,989 to £26,403 per annum (equivalent to £13.50 to £13.72 per hour).
- Hours: 37 hours per week, working based on the following pattern:
- Two long weekly shifts (8:30am to 7:00pm)
- Two standard weekly shifts, either 8:30am to 4:00pm or 11:30am to 7:00pm, on a rotating basis.
- Service remains closed on Wednesdays.
Key Requirements for Candidates
We understand this role requires both personal qualities and basic qualifications to perform the tasks safely and effectively. You should:
- Be able to converse comfortably with clients and their advocates.
- Work collaboratively within the team and independently to deliver a high-quality service.
- Support with personal care, medication administration, and other related health tasks.
- Hold (or be willing to achieve) Level 1 in Maths and English (RQF). Failure to meet this may require you to pass an assessment during the selection process.
