- NVQ level 2 or 3 are preferable but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Role Overview
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and professional Support Worker to provide guidance, practical support, and a safe environment for vulnerable young people, including looked-after children and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
The role involves:
- Supporting young people in line with their pathway plans, support plans, and risk assessments
- Collaborating closely with internal teams, external agencies, and other professionals
- Helping young people develop independence, safety awareness, access to services, and participation in positive activities
Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for young people

Support young people according to their:
- Individual needs
- Pathway plans
- Support plans
- Risk assessments

Assist with the preparation, review, and implementation of support plans and risk assessments

Maintain accurate records including:
- Daily records
- Case notes
- Incident forms
- Accident reports
- Other required documentation

- Supervision and training sessions (when required)

Promote rights, dignity, safety, and wellbeing of young people at all times

Support young people in:
- Positive behaviour management
- Conflict resolution
- Emotional wellbeing

Help young people access:
- Facilities
- Appointments
- Activities
- Services (inside and outside the home)

Communicate with external professionals, including:
- Social workers
- Doctors
- Police
- Other relevant agencies (as required)

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, supporting:
- Cleaning
- Shopping
- Gardening
- General upkeep of the household

Ensure adherence to:
- Company policies
- Health & Safety
- COSHH
- RIDDOR
- Safeguarding requirements

Responsible for:
- Building and smooth running of the shift
- Sleep-in shifts
- Waking nights (when required)

Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, following agreed procedures and safeguarding protocols

Support home financial administration, including:
- Petty cash management
- Allocation of activity money
- Handling of young people’s allowances

Foster positive collaboration with colleagues while:
- Sharing critical information appropriately
- Supporting good team practice
