About the role
This is much more than a care role, it's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, encourage independence, and help people experience the things that matter most to them.
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping people develop life skills, achieve personal goals, access their local community, and enjoy the hobbies and interests they love. Whether you're providing practical support, encouraging confidence and independence, or simply being a positive and reassuring presence, you'll make a real difference.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting individuals to develop independence with cooking, budgeting, household tasks, and daily living skills
- Administering and recording medication safely in line with support plans
- Encouraging participation in hobbies, fitness activities, volunteering, social events, and community opportunities
- Building confidence, promoting wellbeing, and providing meaningful emotional support and companionship
- Supporting individuals to access appointments, local groups, and activities that matter to them
- Completing household tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals
- Using digital systems, including Nourish, to update support notes, risk assessments, and other required documentation
- Managing petty cash accurately and contributing creative ideas that enhance independence, choice, and quality of life for the people we support

Skills and Experience Needed
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.
Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

Pay and Pensions
- £25,877 (£13.45 per hour)
- Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week.
- Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am
- Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
- Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
- Pension Choices:
- Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or,
- Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
- 3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership
- Saving scheme with competitive interest rate
- Give As You Earn scheme for tax efficient charity donations
- From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.
Time off and Flexibility
- 26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days’ annual leave.
- Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks
- Paternity Leave: 3 weeks
