Support Worker - Full Time - Band 2 - Permanent

Shieling is a purpose-built home providing specialist support for seven gentlemen with a learning disability and a range of associated needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mental health needs, sensory impairments, and epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities
- Support people using our services in line with their individual care plan to promote as much independence as possible.
- Assist with all aspects of personal care (supporting continence needs, showering, bathing etc.) in accordance with individual’s support needs.
- Participate in the ongoing monitoring of the health (mental and physical) and behaviour of people using the service.
- Report and record all relevant information and report to Shift Leader any changes in the person.
- Act as a keyworker for named individuals within the service.
- Support an active and enjoyable lifestyle of individuals, by encouraging a range of leisure and social interests. Support on holidays, as identified in their person-centred plans.
- Provide person-centred support as identified within the care plan ensuring respect, privacy, and dignity always.
- Help to maintain and develop relationships between individuals and their families, friends and significant others.
- Support the ladies to prepare their drinks and meals, food shopping and support whilst eating meals with guidelines that may be in place.
