Support Worker (Position: Support Worker)

Location: Sarisbury, SO31 Hours: 30 contracted hours per week (Mon–Sun, weeks, days, evenings, and holidays) Salary: £20,846.92 per annum (£13.33 p/h) Job Ref: 5117

At Advance, we seek Support Workers in Sarisbury, SO31, to empower individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. We offer:

Must-have: ✅ A full UK driving licence (customers rely on their own vehicle for community access)

Key Responsibilities (Day-to-Day Activities):

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (when required)
  • Medication administration (where necessary)
  • Meal preparation and cooking support
  • Accompanying customers to medical appointments
  • Facilitating social activities and opportunities
  • Developing independent living skills
  • Domestic support, including cleaning and laundry
  • Maintaining accurate care records and updating plans as needed
  • Ongoing professional training and updating

Beyond foundational duties, we promote advancements: Many Support Workers progress into leadership or specialised roles while enjoying flexible scheduling (adapting to personal commitments or workloads).


Requirements (About the Candidate)

No prior social care experience is mandatory. What matters most are your:

  • Approachable, empathetic demeanour
  • Passion and determination to enrich the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities

To apply, you’ll need to:

  • Be adaptable, comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skills (with diverse groups)
  • Commit to accurate record-keeping
  • Be available for alternating weekends and shift hours between 7:00am and 10:30pm
  • Follow Support Plans and risk assessments, maintaining documentation consistently
  • Be literate and numerate in English
  • Achieve the Care Certificate (mandatory step for this role)
