Support Worker – Adults with Learning Disabilities & Autism (Part-Time)

Department: Support Roles Location: Stevenage Compensation: £12.81 per hour

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others? Do you thrive on supporting and empowering individuals to reach their full potential?

If you’re ready for a rewarding career, we’re looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join us as part-time permanent Support Workers (up to 22.5 hours per week) in our supported living environments. No prior experience is required—just a strong desire to help adults with learning disabilities and autism live more independent lives.

No two days are the same in this role; if you enjoy variety and meaningful work, this is the opportunity for you!


Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide emotional and practical support tailored to individuals’ needs.
  • Help develop independence and life skills in a way that aligns with each person’s preferences.
  • Offer one-to-one support while also collaborating within a wider team.
  • Work flexibly across weekdays, weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and sleep-ins, adhering to a Late-Sleep-Early shift pattern.
  • Maintain calmness and responsibility in challenging situations.

Key Requirements & Qualities

Skills & Experience

  • No social care experience required (but desirable for career progression).
  • A genuine commitment to empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, agencies, and external partners.
  • Independence with clear accountability—positively managing self and situations.

Practical Considerations

  • Must hold a full UK Manual driving licence (mandatory for role requirements).
  • Flexibility to cover shift patterns (including sleep-ins).
