Company Description
Mid-Lin Day Care Ltd is a small, independent charity providing social care services to adults and older people in Dundee and the surrounding areas. The organization focuses on reducing social isolation and loneliness by offering supportive, person-centred day care and social activities. Services are designed to promote wellbeing, independence, and meaningful engagement for people using the service. Mid-Lin also supports carers by offering holistic care that considers physical, emotional, and social needs. Team members work in a collaborative environment where empathy, respect, and dignity are central values.
Role Description
This full-time Support Worker role is on-site and based in Dundee. The Support Worker will provide person-centred support to adults and older people, assisting with daily activities, social interaction, and participation in group programs. Responsibilities include:

- Promoting independence
- Supporting individuals with mobility and personal care as required
- Helping to create a safe, welcoming environment
- Communicating effectively with service users, carers, and colleagues
- Documenting relevant information
- Following care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Contributing to planning activities
- Assisting with meal times
- Working as part of a small team to deliver high-quality care and support
Qualifications
- Experience in support worker or social care roles and a strong commitment to person-centred support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust and rapport with adults and older people.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and ability to follow relevant policies and procedures.
- Basic technical support skills, including the ability to use care recording systems and communicate via email and other digital tools.
- Relevant social care qualifications (e.g., SVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent) or willingness to work towards them.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, use initiative, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Understanding of issues related to social isolation, ageing, and carer support; previous experience in a day care or community setting is an advantage.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to meet any necessary background checks appropriate for working with vulnerable adults.
