Support Worker

Part-Time Personal Support Worker – Creative Support Location: Pontesbury, Shropshire Hours: £12.85 per hour | Part-Time Reference: 85859

About the Role

Creative Support is seeking a compassionate, positive, and creative individual to join their learning disability support team in Pontesbury. This role is ideal for those with a passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives.

We welcome applicants with all levels of experience, as candidates will receive full training and induction tailored to their needs.

You will be supporting an engaging blind lady with learning disabilities and diverse interests, such as shopping, music, trips out, and conversation. As part of a rural Supported Living Service, you’ll help her live a fulfilling and independent life, whether at home or in the community. Your role will include:

  • Assisting with daily living duties (budgeting, shopping, personal care, medication management)
  • Encouraging her goals and emotional well-being
  • Being an integral team member, ensuring her happiness and independence

A clean UK driver’s licence is mandatory for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Providing personalised support to an individual with disabilities, ensuring autonomy and dignity
  • Encouraging and encouraging participation in community and leisure activities
  • Assisting with administrative tasks (budgeting, shopping, medication)
  • Promoting emotional well-being and creating a supportive, engaging environment
  • Collecting and evaluating progression data, reporting achievements, and continuously monitoring needs

Requirements

  • Proven ability to provide compassionate care in a learning disability/disability context
  • Experience of supporting blind individuals preferred (but not mandatory with training)
  • Willingness to participate in full company training and induction process
  • Clean UK driving licence (required)
