Support Worker

Part-time Support Worker

14 hours per week over 2 days between Monday - Friday. Post holder needs to be flexible as these days are not set.

£12.80 per hour

About You:

We are looking for someone who shares Bethphage's values, has good people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including people we support and their family members as well as members of the public.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience with animals or a farm setting.

We are looking for a team player to join us for 2 days a week at our site in Chelmarsh. You will need to be available to fill the contracted hours over 2 days between Monday and Friday and these days will be flexible, not set. Staff receive their rotas a month in advance as minimum. Any extra days, evenings or weekends would class as additional hours. The role involves supporting individuals with learning disabilities in a range of farming and horticultural activities. You will also work collaboratively as part of a team and assist with transport duties.

Confidence in an educational setting would be desirable. We are looking for someone with a mix of practical skills but who is also familiar with technology. Experience working to high standards of health and safety, along with infection control policies and procedures is crucial. This is a unique role and you must be willing to get your hands dirty!!

Essential Requirements:

  • Driver with UK manual licence for at least 1 year and own vehicle (there is no Public Services).
  • Maths and English Level two and above
  • Good IT knowledge/skills/systems
  • Good communication skills and actively listen

Desirable Requirements:

  • HSC Level 2 Diploma or similar.
  • Farming/ agricultural / horticultural experience highly desirable
  • Qualification within Health and social care desirable
  • Qualifications such as trailer license and working with machinery are highly desirable
