Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.

Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.

Aberdeen Terrace - Meet the people

We are ladies who have lived together for many years and have become great friends.

We need support to move around the home safely and access the community. To do this we have wheelchairs and other moving and positioning aids.

What is important to us

  • We enjoy being out in the community and going to events
  • We enjoy swimming and being on holidays
  • We like music especially musicals and attending the theatre
  • We like baking within our home and more importantly, eating what we have made with our staff team

We like to maintain our independence as much as possible. We like to have a laugh and a joke with others, and we are very caring people. We enjoy meeting new people and being involved in wider group activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We like people that are not afraid to be silly, people who will sing and dance along with us and have a bubbly personality.

We would not enjoy being with people that wouldn’t involve us in activities or moments. We wouldn’t like to be around people that are bossy and those who wouldn’t ask us what we would want.

Things we love to do

  • We love our gardens, we have seasonal items we like to have put outside
  • We enjoy sitting in the garden within the summer and seeing the local animals come to visit

We have a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom and both of us have a bedroom that is decorated to our own tastes. Our shared spaces are full of photos of us, friends, and family.

We have many neighbours who know us well. They always engage with us when outside in the garden or leaving the home.

Other information

  • There is always 1 colleague on shift, and we receive shared support, and both of us get 1-1 hours which means an additional staff member comes during the day
  • The home needs to have 1 staff member present 24 hours a day
  • It is a female only support team, however we do enjoy being in the presence of male staff who come to visit us. "Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010."

Shift patterns are 07:00 to 14:30, 14:30 to 22:00, 22:00 to 07:00 sleep ins and 1-1 hours 10:00-17:00. There is a rolling rota in place which allows for regular weekends off and staff often support others during sickness and annual leave.
