Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. As a Support Worker, you will assist in the daily lives of individuals, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children in their daily routines, education, and personal development.
  • Assist in implementing individualized care plans and behaviour support strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with children through effective communication and active engagement.
  • Work in partnership with families, schools, and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in activities, outings, and appointments, ensuring safe supervision and transport when required.

Duties

  • Provide support to children in various settings, including home and community environments.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active listening.
  • Help children with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and educational support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to care plans and progress.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Drive to various locations as required for outings or appointments, ensuring safe transport.
  • Utilize IT skills to manage schedules, record information, and communicate effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children (residential or similar care setting).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care or Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children is essential.
  • Knowledge of childcare practices and child development principles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with children and families.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and communication purposes is necessary.
