Support Worker

Who are Codi Group?

Codi is a not-for-profit with a big heart and an even bigger mission. As Wales’ largest provider of housing, care, and support, we’re here to help people live well, feel supported, and rise to their full potential.

Every day, our teams support nearly 17,000 individuals across Wales with services that make a real and uplifting difference to their everyday lives.

Our name says it all: ‘Codi’ means rise in Welsh. It reflects who we are, where we come from, and our ambition to lift expectations, lift communities, and lift each other.

About the Role

In this rewarding role, you will be supporting two individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs in their own home, helping them to live fulfilling and independent lives.

One gentleman who is non-verbal but communicates through gestures and behaviour, and understands simple instructions. He thrives on routine and enjoys being actively engaged but without guidance, he may become unsettled. He loves being in water and benefits from sensory-rich experiences, including strong flavours and varied food choices. He enjoys being around people and values close, trusting relationships. He will need encouragement to access the community, including attending a day centre, and support with tasks such as shopping which can be overstimulating. You’ll play a key role in understanding his behaviours, meeting his sensory needs, and supporting his overall wellbeing.

One lady who uses limited verbal communication but clearly expresses her needs through simple language, repetition, and non-verbal cues. She enjoys social interaction, activities such as crafts, colouring, and outings, and values being around others. She has achieved a good level of independence and continues to develop important life skills, including making drinks and making choices about her day. She may at times display behaviours of distress, so you’ll be trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches to help understand triggers, adapt communication, use reassurance and distraction techniques, and responding safely in crisis situations.

Duties could include:

  • Provide high-quality personal care and emotional support, ensuring dignity, respect, and wellbeing at all times
  • Support individuals with daily routines and community access, including appointments, day services, and social activities
  • Promote independence, choice, and control, supporting individuals to develop and maintain daily living skills
  • Plan and deliver meaningful, person-centred activities at home and in the community, encouraging engagement and new experiences
  • Set and support achievement of personal goals, breaking them into manageable steps and adapting approaches as needed
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches to understand behaviour, identify triggers, and support emotional regulation
  • Respond appropriately to behaviours of distress, using de-escalation techniques and following safety and support plans
  • Monitor health and wellbeing, including administering medication and promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle, keeping digital records
  • Support with meal planning and preparation, considering dietary needs, preferences, and sensory requirements
  • Carry out light household duties and work collaboratively as part of a proactive team, maintaining accurate records and communication

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
