I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Support Worker - Gilmerton, Edinburgh
Part-time (15 hours per week)
Drivers preferred
Do you enjoy watching movies? Going out for dinner? Getting out for a nice walk? Going shopping? Or just relaxing in the garden?
If you said yes, then you already have something in common with the amazing people we support in Edinburgh
Make a Difference Every Day
In Gilmerton, we support 4 ladies with learning disabilities and autism to live independently in their shared home. This is a supported living service, which means we’re all about empowering the ladies to make their own choices, plan their days, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Every Day is Different
The people we support have unique personalities, interests, and goals. As a Support Worker, you’ll help them:
- Get out into the community (if you have a driving license, that's a big bonus!)
- Enjoy hobbies and activities
- Manage medication
- With personal care (where needed)
- Make decisions and live independently
We believe in “doing with” not “doing for” - it’s all about enabling, not taking over.
Shifts and Contracts
We provide support 24/7, and we’re currently looking for people who can work shifts on a rota basis from 7am - 2pm and 2pm - 9pm. This will include some weekend work.
