Job Description: Support Worker
Pay: £12.74 per hour
Location: Heron Court, 101 Village Street, Old Normanton, Derby, Derbyshire, DE23 8DF
Shifts: 34.5 hours per week (shift-based rota over 7 days including weekends and public holidays)
Support Worker
As a Support Worker with Rushcliffe Care Group, you will be part of the team responsible for delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care. Your role will have a direct impact on the quality of life and outcomes for the service users you support.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by Rushcliffe Care.
The Role
Responsibilities
As a Support Worker at Rushcliffe Care Group, your primary responsibility will be to provide physical, social, and psychological care to our service users. You will work closely with healthcare team leaders to ensure the well-being and dignity of individuals we support. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Promoting the dignity and independence of individuals we support, considering their unique needs and backgrounds.
- Assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal times, and social interactions, while encouraging freedom of choice.
- Participating in social activities, outings, and hobbies, helping to create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for those in our care.
- Providing emotional and psychological support through active listening, conversation, and 1-to-1 activities.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided and reporting any changes in a service user’s physical or emotional state.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both service users and staff.
- Undertaking training and development opportunities, including completing the Care Certificate within the probationary period.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- You have a basic understanding of care and safe working practices, with a positive approach to supporting individuals and promoting their wellbeing, or are willing to develop these skills.
- You are able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and support others to maintain standards.
- You are reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- You take pride in maintaining cleanliness and supporting a safe working environment.
- You communicate clearly and understand the importance of your role within a care setting.

Heron Court provides residential care and support in a calm, welcoming environment. The service supports adults with a range of needs, with a focus on consistency, safety, and person-centred care.
The team works closely together to provide structured support, promote independence where possible, and ensure people feel settled, listened to, and respected in their home.
