Support Worker Vacancy – Full-Time
Starting Salary: £28,546 per annum (based on 36-hour working week)
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about creating lasting positive change in the lives of vulnerable adults? Surrey County Council is seeking a full-time Support Worker to join our Supported Living team in Guildford. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to residents with learning disabilities and developing lifelong independence.

About The Role
This position is based in the Service Delivery team under Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care, delivering direct care to individuals in supported living accommodation across Surrey—including Mallow Crescent. We are a Quality Care Commission (CQC)-registered service committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities
You will fulfil the following key duties:

Supporting & Empowering Residents:
- Work alongside adults with learning disabilities to build independence and positivity
- Provide direct care (cooking, personal care, and community engagement)

Care Deliverable:
- Plan, implement, and review individualised care plans
- Organise shifts in collaboration with colleagues

Partnership & Reporting:
- Collaborate with external agencies when necessary
- Compile reports and participate in regular reviews
Training & Development:
- Mandatory induction training provided
- Opportunities for further training (under supervision)
We are seeking individuals with a genuine desire to help others. Experience in social care is not essential—as full training is provided. This is an opportunity to grow personally and profession to truly impact the lives of residents in a meaningful way.
Key Arrangements & Expectations
Location & Travel:
All Support Workers will need:
- A valid UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle
- Willingness to travel across both urban and rural areas of Surrey
Clearance & Adjustments:
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Children and Adults’ Barred List checks (paid by the Council).
- Successful applicants with disabilities or long-term health conditions will receive reasonable adjustments.
Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
