Support Worker – Learning Disabilities & Autism

Support Worker – Learning Disability & Autism (16 Hours/Week)

Location: Various Community Locations

Contract Types:

  • 16 Hours per Week (Permanent)
  • 0-Hour Bank Contract

About the Role

Join Our Learning Disability & Autism Team

ACC Care Group is seeking caring and enthusiastic Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities and autism to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Your role will focus on person-centred support tailored to individual needs, helping people develop essential skills, navigate the community, and work towards their personal goals.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients with daily living skills
  • Promoting independence and choice in daily activities
  • Facilitating community access and social activities
  • Assisting with communication methods and routines
  • Implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies** (where required)
  • Recording accurate care documentation for client progress
  • Collaborating with families, carers, and external professionals

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism (preferred but not essential)
  • Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
  • Excellent communication skills with diverse clients and teams
  • Positive and encouraging attitude, fostering motivation
  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to shifting schedules
  • Commitment to person-centred care principles

Essential Requirements

✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Access to a personal vehicle (due to community-based role) ✔ Right to work in the UK (valid status) ✔ Willingness to undergo specialist training ✔ Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and occasional weekends
