Location: Southend on Sea, SS2 Hours: 37.5 contracted hours per week (Mon–Sun, weekends, evenings, holidays, and sleep-in shifts) Salary: £26,058.65 p/a (£13.33/hour) Job ref: 5123

About the Role
Are you caring, dynamic, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives? If so, Advance has an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker in Southend on Sea to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or mental health conditions.
As a Support Worker, you’ll help customers live the lives they choose with independence, dignity, and fulfilment. The role is dynamic—no two days will be the same—and offers a fulfilling career in social care, complete with padding, training, and progression opportunities within Advance.
Key Tasks Include:
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if applicable)
- Medication administration (if capable)
- Supporting clients with meal planning, cooking, and nutrition
- Accompanying customers to medical appointments
- Facilitating social activities (e.g., arts, leisure, community engagement)
- Encouraging independent living skills (household management, budgeting, etc.)
- Handling domestic duties (cleaning, laundry)
- Maintaining accurate care records and updating support plans
- Completing mandatory training for continual professional development

Requirements for This Role:
✅ Caring Attitude & Passion – Experience isn’t mandatory, but enthusiasm, patience, and a compassionate mindset are essential.
✅ Communication & Teamwork – You must thrive working both independently and collaboratively toward customer goals.
✅ Accounts & Records – Demonstrated ability to document care accurately and adheres standards.
✅ Flexibility
- Willing to work every other weekend
- Shift pattern covers 7:00am to 10:30pm
✅ Legal & Administrative Compliance
- Understands risk assessments, support plans, and british safeguarding legislation
- English literacy and numeracy (correspondence and assessments required)
✅ Professional Commitment
- Willing to complete the UK Care Certificate in person development.
