Support Worker – Mental Health
Support Worker – Mental Health (Community-Based)
Location: CB1, CB4, CB5
Contract Options:
- 16 Hours per Week (Permanent, Driver)
- 0-Hour Bank Contract
Salary: £14 per hour (plus mileage where applicable)
About the Role
At ACC Care Group, we are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Support Workers to join our Mental Health team. You will provide person-centred support to individuals living with mental health conditions, helping them:
- Maintain independence
- Build confidence
- Achieve positive outcomes in their community
This role involves lone working in community settings, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring people feel safe, respected, and empowered.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting individuals with daily living tasks and community access
- Providing emotional support to help clients remain independent
- Assisting during periods of anxiety or crisis using de-escalation techniques
- Encouraging participation in social and community activities
- Accurately recording care notes and reporting concerns
- Following established care plans and risk assessments
- Collaborating professionally with families and healthcare professionals

Who We’re Looking For
While experience is not mandatory, the following are highly valued:
- Experience in mental health, community care, or support work (preferred)
- A calm, confident, and non-judgemental approach in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong compassionate and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good written documentation skills
Essential Requirements
