Support Worker – Mental Health

Support Worker – Mental Health (Permanent, 16 Hours/Week, Driver Required)


Location: CB1, CB4, CB5


Role Overview

Join ACC Care Group as a compassionate and reliable Support Worker in our Mental Health team. You’ll provide person-centred support to individuals living with mental health conditions, helping them maintain independence, build confidence, and thrive in their communities. This role involves lone working, community-based support, and proactive wellbeing support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting individuals with daily living tasks and community access
  • Offering emotional support and promoting independence
  • Assisting during periods of anxiety or crisis, including de-escalation techniques
  • Encouraging social engagement and participation in community activities
  • Maintaining accurate care notes and reporting concerns to relevant parties
  • Adhering to care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding policies
  • Working collaboratively with families and healthcare professionals

Skills & Experience

Preferred:

  • Experience in mental health, community care, or support work
  • A calm and confident approach in challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Natural compassion, professionalism, and emotional Resilience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Essential Requirements:

✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Access to your own vehicle (mileage paid where applicable) ✔ Right to work in the UK ✔ Willingness to complete mandatory training ✔ Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
