Support Worker – Adult Services

Job Introduction

Are you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their desired potential? Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, is looking for Support Workers to join our dedicated team at our new 5-bedroom supported living property near Braintree.

This marks our first property acquisition in many years and aligns with our strategy for growth—making this an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering project that will shape the future of our services.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with individuals to help them develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Location

Birch Park, Braintree, CM7

Salary & Hours

  • Salary: £25,003.61 per annum (£12.96 per hour)
  • Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week), with overtime available

Note: Unfortunately, we do not offer sponsorship. Candidates must have the eligibility to work in the UK.


About The Role

  • Work in partnership with the team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
  • Maintain the dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of each individual, assisting with personal care, health, and hygiene.
  • Support individuals in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips, and holidays.
  • Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
  • Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns.

Requirements

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader, preferably within autism or learning disabilities.
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Can identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.
  • Have experience in providing intensive behavioural support.
  • Possess strong communication skills and experience in coordinating activities in the local area.
