Support Worker - Newbiggin by the Sea

Job Description

Make a Real Difference Every Day

Do you want a career where you genuinely change lives?

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Support Workers to join our team supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to empower people to live fulfilling, independent lives while achieving things others may have said were not possible.

About The Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs, helping them to:

  • Build independence and life skills
  • Access the community and take part in meaningful activities
  • Develop communication and emotional regulation skills
  • Achieve personal goals and celebrate success

You’ll also support with daily living tasks such as cooking, personal care, and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Understanding the Role Honestly

Some of the individuals we support may express behaviours that challenge. These behaviours are often a form of communication, especially when someone is feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unable to express their needs in other ways.

You Will Be Supported With

  • Specialist training in positive behaviour support
  • Clear guidance and structured support plans
  • Ongoing coaching from experienced leaders

We don’t expect you to have all the answers — we will help you learn, build confidence, and succeed.

What Makes This Role So Rewarding?

While the role can be challenging at times, it is also incredibly fulfilling. You’ll:

  • See the people you support achieve things others didn’t think possible
  • Build meaningful, trusting relationships
  • Help someone gain independence and confidence
  • Be part of a supportive, passionate team
  • Go home knowing you’ve made a genuine difference
