Support Worker - Nights
Youth Development Worker - Nights

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Development Worker – working nights (7pm to 6am) – to join our passionate support team at Bristol Foyer, a vibrant supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–25, part of LiveWest.
About the Role

As a Youth Development Worker - Nights, you will be at the heart of this journey, helping young people turn their aspirations into reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25
- Develop and review tailored support and action plans based on individual goals
- Update and manage risk assessments and risk management plans
- Support young people with:
- Tenancy and housing management
- Benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit)
- Budgeting, paying bills, and financial management
- Pathways into education, training, and employment
- Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence, landlords, etc.)
- Guide young people in preparing for independent living and successful move-on
- Adapt communication styles to provide person-centred, creative support

This role is: ✅ Full-time, permanent ✅ Nights-only shift pattern: 4 shifts on, 4 off (including 1 weekend shift in every 4, including bank holidays)
Essential Skills & Experience
To progress to interview, you must demonstrate:
- Ability to engage with a range of young people
- Tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people
- Good understanding of:
- Young people’s needs
- Safeguarding
- Emotional and mental health issues
- Support needs and planning
- Risk assessment and management
Ideal candidates will also have: 🔹 Innovative and creative approaches to working with young people 🔹 Resilience and flexibility when dealing with challenges 🔹 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 🔹 Confidence in lone working while remaining a strong team player
