Job Description: Personal Assistant (PA) for a Young Person with Down Syndrome
Location: Troon, Ayrshire
Hours: 4 hours per week (flexible) or 16 hours 4 weekly

Overview
A loving family in Troon is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Personal Assistant (PA) to support their young daughter, Elise, who was born with Down Syndrome. Elise is a sociable and happy individual who attends a mainstream school with one-to-one support. She is gaining independence and enjoys engaging activities that match her interests and abilities.
The family would like the PA to provide Elise with enjoyable, tailored activities while her mother spends quality time with her two older sons engaging in pursuits not suitable for Elise.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate fun, engaging activities that Elise will enjoy.
Provide attentive and supportive care during the agreed hours.
Always ensure Elise’s safety and comfort.
Communicate effectively with the family to understand Elise’s needs and preferences.
Requirements
Friendly, patient, and understanding demeanour.
Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable but not essential.
A commitment to fostering Elise’s independence and happiness.
Reliability and flexibility to meet the family’s schedule.
